The Halti Head Collar is a simple, effective training aid designed to help stop dogs from pulling on the lead. By gently guiding the head, it provides maximum steering control while remaining comfortable for your dog to wear.
Unlike traditional collars, the Halti Head Collar works by redirecting forward movement, making it easier to guide your dog’s direction without pain or pressure. The lightweight design allows dogs to pant, eat, drink, and play as normal, ensuring a stress‑free walking experience.
Ideal for training and everyday walks, the Halti Head Collar encourages calmer lead behaviour and more enjoyable outings for both dog and owner.
Key Benefits:
- Makes training and behaviour modification of dogs practical and safe
- Can be used in a number of ways: either as a passive means to simply stop dogs pulling, or as an active training aid.
- No metal parts in contact with the dog's skin and the point of steering is well down the nose and away from the eyes.
Introduce the harness positively - Hold a treat in your hand and encourage your dog to place their nose through the nose loop to reach it. Allow your dog to do this willingly and avoid forcing the harness on. Fit the nose loop - Gently slide the nose loop over your dog’s nose while they are focused on the treat. Ensure the loop sits comfortably and does not restrict breathing or panting. Secure the neck strap - Fasten the neck strap behind your dog’s ears so it fits snugly but comfortably. You should be able to fit two fingers between the strap and your dog’s neck. Attach the safety clip - Clip the safety link to your dog’s regular collar. This provides added security and helps prevent the harness from coming off. Attach the lead - Clip the lead to the ring under the chin. This allows gentle steering control of the head to help reduce pulling. Practise indoors first - Allow your dog to wear the Halti for short periods indoors, rewarding calm behaviour with treats and praise. Use on walks - Use during walks to guide your dog comfortably and discourage pulling without pressure. Check fit regularly - Always check the fit before use and adjust as needed, especially for growing dogs.
